Snow in Mississippi

Noah and I made an unexpected trip to Mississippi last week. My grandfather passed away, which was a shock and sad but I have realized that it was just his time to go. In fact, he probably died at a good time. He didn't suffer, his mind was still intact, and he lived a good life. I got to see him a week before he passed away, and I am so grateful for that. I will miss him but I have found peace through my Savior and the plan of salvation.

While we were in MS, the craziest thing happened-- it snowed! And it actually stayed on the ground. Here are a few pics of Noah and his first experience with snow.

Two Years!

Yesterday Daniel and I celebrated our two year anniversary. It's crazy how fast time flies. So much has happened in the past two years. We moved to a new apartment twice, I conquered my biggest fear (childbirth), we had a beautiful little boy, I quit my job to be a stay-at-home mom, Daniel graduated with honors, Daniel conquered his biggest fear (opening his own practice), we got a minivan, Daniel sold his car, we accumulated a lot more stuff (mostly toys and baby stuff), we've made many new friends, and the list could go on. I think the best thing about these last two years is that Daniel and I have grown closer as we've had to experience new and challenging things. I think we're a great pair! I can't imagine spending eternity with anyone else. I love you sweetheart, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us!

Halloween

We went over to our friends, Seth and Sara's, house for Halloween. We had a great dinner then ventured out in the rain to take the kids trick or treating. We felt kind of silly taking Noah since he doesn't get to eat the candy, but decided to do it anyway. Besides, Daniel and I love candy!

Here's our little skeleton.

A group shot of all the kids.

Trunk or Treat

Can you guess who Daniel and Noah were for our ward trunk or treat?

Pumpkin Fun!

We carved a pumpkin for family home evening last night. It sure was messy but so worth it!

Here's Noah helping scoop out the pumpkin goop.

Berry Patch Farms

On Saturday we went to Berry Patch Farms in Woodstock, GA. It was freezing outside but we braved the cold weather and had a great time. Noah's Grandaddy and Granmommy joined us. We went on a hayride, played in a pumpkin patch, saw some animals on the farm, and played on a tractor. It was a lot of fun despite the cold!

First Haircut!

Noah had his first haircut last night. It was time; some of his hairs were about 3 or 4 inches long if you pulled them straight up.

Getting ready for the big event!
Some of those long hairs

The towel and clothespin are secure so we're ready to cut!

He wasn't so sure about the clippers.

Ta da! Here's our new little man.

Green Beans -- Yuck!

Last week we fed Noah green beans for the first time. He didn't care for them. After I tasted them, I didn't care for them either. I'm all about giving him lots of vegetables, but these were pretty disgusting. Here are some pics of him with more beans on his face than in his mouth.

More pics

Here are more pictures from our photo shoot with the Megan's. There are too many to choose from so I had to post more.

Family and 6 month pics

Here are some recent pictures of our family and Noah. Noah was 6 months in these pictures. He is now 7 and 1/2 months old, so sorry for not posting these sooner. The pictures were taken by our friends Megan Metcalf and Megan Davidson. They did an awesome job! They are starting their own photography business and I would highly recommend them. I love how our pictures turned out!

Trying to crawl

Here's video of Noah trying to crawl. I think he'll get it any day now!

So cute!

Noah wants to crawl so badly! He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks and then falls on his stomach. He usually ends up moving backwards or trying to sit up from his side. He's so funny! Yesterday he made his way over to the coffee table and was using it to help him crawl around. He looked so cute so I had to take some pictures. This kid is growing up so fast!

Trip to the Alpaca Farm

Daniel's stepmom, Gail, owns an alpaca and helps take care of other alpacas on a farm in Blairsville, GA. Gail makes beautiful hats and other things from the alpaca fur. We were up by the farm yesterday and asked Gail to give us a tour. This was the first time I had ever seen an alpaca in real life. They are so cute! I especially love the hair on the top of their heads. Here are some pictures from the farm:

Bath Time and Feet

Noah has found his feet! He even managed to put his toes in his mouth today. It's so gross but cute at the same time. While we were giving him a bath tonight, he decided to suck on his toes again. It was so funny that I had to take some pictures. This kid is quite a character.
